About the Cobble Hill Race
20km Long Course / 12km Short Course
The Frontrunners VITRS is Vancouver Island’s premiere trail running series that takes runners off the roads and on to some of the most amazing trail networks in Western Canada.
6th year for this single-track-packed event, we’ll send you up and around the Cobble Hill Mountain Recreation area for some exquisite mountain trails that will surely not disappoint! Race sold out quick in the last few years!
COURSE DISTANCES
Long Course – ~20k – 915m Vertical Gain
*Note: There is a course cut off at the 11km mark in the long course at the 2hr 15min (1pm)*
Short Course – ~12k – 640m Vertical Gain
PACKAGE PICK UP
As we tend to get a large number of participants registered and to ease the congestion with parking, we stagger the bib pick up times.
- Long Course participants can pick up their bibs starting at 9:00am until 10:00am.
- Short Course participants can pick up their bibs starting at 9:45am until 10:30am.
PARKING AND DIRECTIONS
The event is being held at the Nature Quarry Park in Cobble Hill, BC. See this Google Map for the exact location. For those looking for the exact address for their GPS devices: 3606 Empress Road, Cobble Hill, BC.
Directions driving north from Victoria. Follow Highway 1 northbound. Take a left at Hutchinson road (west bound direction). Drive straight until you come to the park. Watch for parking volunteers!
***Due to the increase in participants this year, there will be no race parking at Nature Quarry Park***
Directions driving south from Nanaimo and North Island. Follow Highway 1 southbound. Take a right at Hutchinson road (west bound direction). Drive straight until you come to the park. Watch for parking volunteers!
We will have parking volunteers to assist you with parking in the parking lots. Please follow their direction. We have been given strict instructions from Cowichan Valley Regional District to not park in the follow areas:
- Empress Road
- Cobble Hill Road
- Shawnigan Lake Road
- Any of the business parking lots
And here is a map of the spots you CANNOT park (highlighted in Yellow).
So where can you park? You may park in any designated parking area along Hutchinson Road, Watson Ave and Fisher Ave. We would also recommend you carpool! You can meet new friends and also reduce your carbon footprint!
